Why the Name?

Published by jcronin at 4:51 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

So I thought for my first blog I would explain the name of my blog.  I wanted to blog about god and things that are relevant to our society, our culture, and our species.  Religion and love are not only relevant to all of these things but they are two things that are sometimes so intertwined with each other that they cannot be seperated.  Other times they seem so distant from each other that it would seem impossible for them to be intertwined at all.
Almost every every major religious figure at one point or another talks or preaches about love Jesus did, Buddha did, Muhammad did, Gandhi did (I’m not sure that Gandhi is a religious figure but sometimes he’s quoted like one).  The point is that all of these figureheads produced a great number of followers and each one felt that love is an important enough part of humanity to talk about.
But at the same time many religions can cause pain and suffering.  The crusades are an example of this.  But for some reason pain and suffering caused by a religion aren’t enough to dissuade most followers from believing that their religion has a by product of love.  Islam is currently under attack for causing pain and suffering  but many Muslims say no its not Islam that teaches this its extremists or something like that.
The point is people need love and they want love love is bigger then any religion, political party, natural catastrophe, or Social injustice.  Love is something that no religion can really just ignore.
